a picture after a long long time. i wasn't in the right frame of mind to do any of this.
ok, this one was shot on my last trek to the kanoor fort. i wanted to start posting pics from the start to the end of the trek. so this one was the very first sight of green landscape that captivated my friend and i. Shyam was on his very first trek; he said he wanted to do one these treks before he finishes his intership and gets back to his home town in andhra . so we started as only the two of us trodding this beautiful land...

Dear Sudarshan,
this is what i had gathered in my red journal this time... there are plenty of routes you could try in this particular region. the one you are talking about starts from the beautiful village of nagavalli which can be reached by bus on the same sagar-bhatkal route. you can trek up kanoor from here. but i haven't done it and i suspect you strongly need a guide to get you across this route. another, is a trek to a very remote village on top of a hill called 'meghane'. this is a tribal village and can be reached by a 4 km steep ascent from 'meghane cross', on the same bus route. there is a trek route from meghane to the huge caves of bheemeshwara, another interesting spot. but i haven't done any of these routes so all i can offer is this information. let me know if you gather more.
